HERE I AM WALKING EVER SO QUIETLY and ever so carefully. I woke up in the middle of the night, my stomach grumbling. After much hesitation, my stomach won out and reluctantly I eased myself out of bed. I don’t want to wake up the entire household, so I gingerly made my way to the kitchen. At the fridge, I paused long enough to read the note my Mom gave to me exactly 3 days ago already. It says, “David, please don’t forget to call the rat control company today”. As usual, I didn’t give it a thought. My Mom is just always worrying. Right now, feeding my big intestine is foremost in my mind.

Satisfied I got all the munchies I need, I gingerly made my way back to the room. Suddenly, something hairy and fleshy ran past my feet. I was so surprised that I lost my footing and landed squarely on my back. I watched helplessly as all my precious foods jangled noisily to the ground. That did it! The noise woke everybody and are all angrily waiting for me to explain what happened. “I’m sorry,” I started to say, “I got startled by a rat!” At that, Mom said, “You mean you forgot to call the rat control company? Then that’s all your fault.”

Learning my lesson, I called the rat control company and set an appointment. I was definitely impressed at the way they patiently listened to my story of woe. We looked over the price estimate for their services and I believed it was a fair and good deal. Just as soon as all the papers have been signed, they begun eliminating all the rats in our house. I was amazed. They were really very good at their job. The rat control personnel have so much training and experience in their given field that it really reflects on their performance. They are very systematic. They work with precision. They were full of energy, never wavering or faltering during the course of their work. When they were finally finished, they guaranteed us that there are no more mouse in our house. Our faith has been restored. I’m so confident with their work, I need not be afraid to walk in the house at night, even if all the lights are turned off.
